![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Stat-building is more popular in the English-written VN scene than the Japanese one these days. Nonetheless, Fureraba is a very good moege (rom-com). The conversation minigame in Fureraba is kinda dating sim-ish, but you can't really fail at it so long as you hammer talking to the same girl constantly and eventually bumble through all the bad options. Lots of replayability here, although searching for some events and unlocking some of the more random CGs can be a pain. There are also tons of hidden events that can unlock when you've completed specific other events, or series of events, each heroine has a different date event each weekend, and the game has the rare and valuable reverse confessions if you max out a heroine's affection and fulfill certain other conditions. If you don't follow the advice the game gives you, you may well get the bad end on your first playthrough.Īfter entering each of the main heroines' routes, you get a cheat item that lets you max out their affection immediately and enter their route from the beginning of the game, which gives you new events as the relationship plays out differently from the initial playthrough. However, it's not as easy as just spamming all the events for one girl and entering her route ASAP because you'll run out of events if you don't properly pace yourself. The "common route" is basically you picking individual, disconnected events to view and the more you view events with specific heroines, the more they start to like you. It doesn't have stat-building, but it does have a score system of sorts that you might understand more once you start playing and read the tutorial text. If You Love Me, Then Say So!, SukiSuki, is otherwise the closest you'll get to a modern true dating sim. There is the Cation series but they're unlikely to ever be translated, considering the work that would go into translating the sheer number of objects and voice options, among other things. You can't find full-fledged, stat-tastic dating sims lately because they don't really exist anymore. ![]()
